Description
The
WAGO_series765.xml
and
WAGO_series765_diag.xml
device descrip-
tion files contain the WAGO I/O System Field modules. The configuration soft-
ware of the EtherCAT
®
master imports these XML files, and the user can select
and parameterize one or more modules of the 765 Series.
The user loads the configuration onto the EtherCAT
®
master. The EtherCAT
®
master configures and parameterizes the 765 modules via EtherCAT
®
.
WAGO I/O Field Webserver The
WAGO I/O Field Webserver
is a Webserver that is integrated into the 765
Series module. Using a Web browser, the user can view the Web pages and dis-
play and modify parameters.
WAGO I/O Field App
The
WAGO I/O Field app
is an app for mobile devices that can communicate
with a 765 Series module via Bluetooth
®
. With the app, the user can parameterize
the 765 series module, read and write process data, and display diagnostics.
Two configuration and parameterization sections are distinguished:
1. The
EtherCAT configuration
: select EtherCAT
®
module
2. The
port configuration
: digital input or output
The following table shows which tool can influence which section.

Master
The EtherCAT
®
master
configures the 765 Series
module.
The EtherCAT
®
master sets the parameter selected by
the user on the basis of the parameters in the XML file
WAGO_series765.xml
. These parameters configure
each individual port and determine whether the port is
used as a digital input or digital output (or is disabled).

Note
Parameters via EtherCAT
®
are always rewritten upon restart
Each time EtherCAT
®
communication starts up, the master transfers the configuration
and parameters to the module. Port configuration parameters that were set by the WAGO
I/O Field Webserver, the WAGO I/O Field app or the OPC UA client are overwritten.
If you have changed parameters of the port configuration via the WAGO I/O Field Web-
server, the WAGO I/O Field app or the OPC UA Client, please note that these changes
are initially applied by the module, but the EtherCAT
®
master overwrites the port configu-
ration again the next time it starts up. If you want to change parameters of the port config-
uration, set them in the configuration software of the EtherCAT
®
master.
