Adjusting the length of the chain net
It is seldom necessary to change the length of
the chain net thanks to the integrated shortening
element (13). The procedure described here to
extend or shorten the chain net must therefore
only be carried out repeated and careful
adjustment of the retaining strap's tension is not
sufficient.

There are two open chain links (shortening
points) at each spike element.

─ Cut off the shortening element and remove it
completely.
─ If a further shortening element is to be
removed, remove it from the opposite side.
─ If the tire dimension requires that more than
two shortening elements are to be removed,
remove at regular intervals around the entire
snow chain.
─ The chain net has to have a clearance of
approx.
15 mm (9/16”
) from the tire's surface.
Check the distance. If it is more than 15 mm
(9/16”), shorten the chain net according to the
following points.
