damage caused to the snow chains or car, and
may also result in an increased risk of accidents.
Always check the chains before you fit them on
the tires. If they appear to be worn more than 50
%, or if a link is broken, stop using the chains. If
a link in the chain is broken, the chains must be
removed immediately to prevent damaging the
car. Chain repairs must only be carried out by the
manufacturer otherwise the separate warranty is
deemed invalid, which differs from the legal
requirement.
Care instructions
The snow chains must only be fitted to the
driven wheels. All steps must be carried out
on both wheels. On four wheel drive cars, the
snow chains must be fitted to the front
wheels.
The snow chains are an important part of the
safety equipment when driving on winter
roads. To ensure the longevity of the chains
and to always arrive safe and sound, follow
these instructions carefully. Volvo Car
Corporation assumes no responsibility for any
personal or material damage, such as loss of
chains, if caused by not following these
instructions.

─ Clean the chains with warm water and dry
them carefully as soon as possible after use.
─ Never use oil on the chains! The chains are
made of quality steel, but they are not
rustproofed. Minor rust does not affect the
chains' quality.
