After your vehicle receives a VW Diagnosis, your Authorized
Volkswagen Dealer can perform the VW Maintenance.

A VW Maintenance every 6,000 miles consists of:

Every 30,000 miles

Engine: Change oil, clean oil strainer. Replace oil filter.

In addition:

Every 24,000 miles

Every 18,000 miles

Every 12,000 miles

Every 2 years

VW Maintenance

Important:

Valves: Check and adjust clearance.

Door hinges and door checks: Lubricate.
Sliding door mounting points: Lubricate.

Transmission: Check oil level, add if necessary.

Automatic Transmission
Final drive: Check oil level, add if necessary.
Fluid pan: Check torque of bolts.

Test drive: Check braking, clutch, kickdown, steering, hea-
ting, ventilation system and overall performance.
Cylinder head covers: Check for leaks.

Automatic Transmission
Change ATF (includes removing and installing oil pan).

Brakes: Replace brake fluid.
Brake warning light switch: Check functioning.

Automatic Transmission
Exhaust recirculation valve: Check, replace if necessary.
Automatic Transmission
Filter element for exhaust recirculation: Replace (at least
every 2 years).

Front end: Lubricate.
Air cleaner: Replace filter element (at least every 2 years).
Air pump, air cleaner: Replace element (at least every 2
years).

Contact breaker points: Replace.
Adjust dwell angle. Check timing, adjust if necessary.

Spark plugs: Replace.

The  maintenance  which  should  be  performed  at  specified
mileage intervals is shown below.
There  may  be  additional  maintenance  required  which  will
show up on the VW Diagnosis Test Report.
Your VW Service Manager or Service Adviser will explain the
results of the VW Diagnosis in detail.
This  will  help  keep  a  small  maintenance  problem  from
growing into a big maintenance problem.
So that your VW will keep running like a VW.

Change ATF every 18,000 miles if vehicle is operated under
heavy duty conditions such as trailer towing, high outside
temperatures, continuous mountain driving or constant stop
and go traffic. If in doubt, consult your Authorized Volks-
wagen dealer.
