On the E1 Link card, jumpers need to be applied according to the connector and line impedance required.
The default setting is for 75 Ohm Unbalanced BNC.
For 75 ohm, unbalanced, Coaxial BNC, operation (default) the links should be set as follows:
JP2 1-3,
2-4
For 120 ohm, balanced, UTP operation the links should be set as follows:
JP2 3-5,

To install the E1 Link Card, follow the procedure above as for all other Special Option cards.

FLASH Software Upgrading
The unit is supplied from the factory with both the operating software and a small
loader kernel already programmed into the FLASH memory devices on the main PCB.
The loader may be used at any time to upload new versions of software in the field as
required.
To upload a new version of software, a PC is required and a supervisor cable type VI68724A, together
with a Windows
TM
95/98/2000/XP utility called “flash.exe”, also supplied by Vocality International Ltd, with
the new update. The latest information is contained in Application Note AN019, which may be downloaded
from the Vocality International support site at www.vocality.com.
Connect the cable to the V100 supervisor port and to the chosen COM port on the PC. Run the “flash.exe”
utility, which will display a window as follows:
