6.4. Replacing the UPS (Rack/Tower) and Battery Packs (EBPs)
If the battery of modular unit fails, then perform the following steps to replace it by a new battery pack:
①
Remove the front cover of the battery housing.
②
Remove the connection cables between the battery housing and the UPS. Release the screw of the metal sheet of
the battery pack as shown on figure 25. The remove the metal sheet from the right or left.
③
Grasp the handle in front of the battery pack, pull it out and hold it, then remove the battery pack as shown on figure
26.
④
Hold the middle of the new battery pack and insert it. If installing a new battery pack, ensure that it is completely
inserted into the chassis/support (see figure 27).
6.5. Testing New Batteries
To test new batteries, execute the following steps:
①
Connect the UPS to the mains during 48 hours to charge the batteries.
②
Start up the UPS by pressing the start-up key combination.
③
Press the key combination of battery test to activate the test of batteries. The UPS starts a battery test if the batteries
are fully charged, if the UPS is in normal mode with no active alarm and if the bypass voltage is acceptable.
During the battery test, the UPS transfers to battery mode and discharges the batteries during 10 seconds. The LED
indicators on front panel stop cycling when the test is completed.
