Mainboard Access Panel Removal
In order to remove the mainboard access panel and
gain access to various computer components, the
connector panel cover (
X
) needs to be removed first.
Step 1
Unscrew 6 thumb screws holding the connector panel
cover. Remove the connector panel.
Step 2
Unscrew 6 screws holding the mainboard access
panel (
Y
) using a Philips screwdriver. Remove the
mainboard access panel to access the various
computer components inside.
After removing the mainboard access panel, you will
have access to the mainboard and hard disk drive.
Please see the section for component replacement for
procedures on hard disk drive replacement.
NOTE
PLEASE REMOVE THE CONNECTOR PANEL COVER (
X
) BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE
MAINBOARD ACCESS PANEL (
Y
).
Any attempt to remove the mainboard access panel without removing the
connector panel cover may damage the panels in doing so.
