Lubricating oil
This engine oil should be used for all MAN engines
(Lambda = 1 and turbo). The extended oil change
intervals of CHP unit manufacturer Viessmann Kraft-
Wärme-Kopplung GmbH apply. For any warranty
claims, the specific maintenance intervals must be
observed and, where required, responsibility for
providing verification using oil analyses lies with the
individual.
Other engine lubricating oils
Responsibility lies with the individual if other engine
lubricating oils are used in accordance with the
approved list of MAN Truck & Bus AG (document:
MAN factory standard M3271-2 for natural gas).
The oil change is subject to the shortened
maintenance intervals specified there and
responsibility for carrying this out lies with the
individual in accordance with the
specifications/conditions.
8.2.2 Coolant
Prescribed constituents
The cooling system must be filled with a mixture of
potable tap water and corrosion inhibitor/antifreeze
with corrosion protection for engine cooling systems.
●

Potable tap water with the following analytical value
restrictions is suitable:
Appearance: Colourless, clear, free of mechanical
impurities:
-
Hardness:
max. 20 °dH
-
Chlorides:
max. 100 ppm
-
Sulphates:
max. 150 ppm
-
pH value at 20 °C:
6.5 to 8.5
●
38 % corrosion inhibitor/antifreeze by volume,
see section 78.2.3.
