SCENT PAD HEATER DIRECTION FOR USE
(See appendix B on page 5)
Your Vicks Humidifier includes a scent pad heater so that you can enjoy
Vicks soothing menthol vapors to increase your comfort. Each scent pad is
designed to last for 6-8 hours of use.
1. Turn off and unplug your humidifier.
2. Remove the water tank and locate the scent pad slot on the base.
3. Place one scent pad in the slot, being careful not to touch the scent pad
with your hands. If your hands do come in contact with the pad, please
wash them thoroughly as the menthol can be an irritant.
4. Replace the tank and turn the unit on.
Note: As long as your humidifier is on, the scent pad heater will also be
activated. This area can be warm to the touch.
THE APPLIANCE IS ONLY TO BE USED WITH THE RECOMMENDED
VAPORIZING MEDIUM. THE USE OF OTHER SUBSTANCES MAY GIVE
RISE TO A TOXIC OR FIRE RISK.
CHANGING FILTER
(See appendix C on page 5)
1. The ACA-3E filter performance depends on the mineral content of the
water and the amount of airborne dust in the environment.
2. When using the humidifier under normal conditions the filter should
be replaced every two months.
3. Always replace the filter immediately, when it discolours or when the
top is not moist to the touch.
CHANGING UV BULB
(See appendix D on page 6)
1. The UV bulb will operate for an average output of 10,000 hours. UV
light replacement indicator will light up when UV light needs to be
replaced
2. To order a new UV bulb, please contact Kaz www.kaz.com.
3. It is recommended that a paper towel or glove be used when changing UV
bulb to prevent oils from the skin from being transferred to the bulb surface.
These oils can adversely affect bulb life.
4. Discard the old UV bulb at a household hazardous waste collection site.
Lamp contains mercury. Manage in accordance with disposal laws.
CLEANING

CLEANING INVOLVES TWO STEPS, SCALE REMOVAL AND DISINFECTING.
BE SURE TO PERFORM THESE IN THE PROPER ORDER TO AVOID HARMFUL
CHEMICAL INTERACTIONS.
REMOVE FILTER BEFORE SCALE REMOVAL OR DISINFECTING. FAILURE
TO REMOVE FILTER DURING CLEANING WILL DESTROY THE FILTER.
SCALE REMOVAL
1. Wipe base and tank with undiluted vinegar
2. Rinse thoroughly
DISINFECTING
1. Fill water tank with 1 tea spoon of bleach and 3.7 liter of cool water
2. Wipe base with same solution
3. Wait 20 minutes and then rinse thoroughly until smell of bleach is
gone
STORAGE
Follow cleaning instruction, discard filter and dry product thoroughly.
DISPOSAL
Please do not dispose of this product in the household waste at
the end of its useful life. Disposal can take place at your local
retailer or at appropriate collection points provided.

correct use and care of this KAZ product according to these user instructions.
The purchaser or user must himself or herself decide when and for how long
this KAZ product is in use.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read through all the instructions before starting to use the appliance. Keep
this manual in a safe place for future reference.
1. This appliance must only be operated as instructed in this user manual.
2. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do
not play with the appliance.
3. This appliance is only designed for indoor use. Do not place it in direct
sunlight, high-temperature areas or near computers or sensitive
electronic equipment. Keep the appliance away from heat sources such
as stoves, heaters, etc.
4. Place the appliance on a firm, even, non-metallic and waterproof
surface. This humidifier may not work properly on an uneven surface.
5. Kaz will not accept responsibility for property damage caused by water
spillage.
6. Do not direct the mist outlet directly at people, walls, electrical
appliances or any objects.
7. Only connect the appliance to a single-phase AC supply to the voltage
shown on the rating plate.
8. Unwind the power cord completely. Failure to do so could cause
overheating and possible fire hazard.
9. Do not tug at the power cord to disconnect the plug. Do not touch the
power cord with wet hands. Do not remove the power plug from the
power socket while the product is in use.
10. Do not use accessories, spare parts or components not expected and /
or provided by the manufacturer.
11. Do not use an extension cord or a solid-state speed-control device.
Doing so could cause overheating, fire hazard or electric shock.
12. Do not cover the mist outlet or put anything on it while the humidifier
is running.
13. Always switch the appliance off and disconnect the power plug from
the power socket when the appliance is not in use, during transport
and cleaning and before removing the water tank.
14. Never tilt or attempt to move the humidifier while it is operating or
filled with water.
15. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer,
its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a
hazard.
16. Do not use this appliance if it is damaged or shows any signs of possible
damage or if it is not functioning properly. Disconnect the power plug
from the power socket.
17. Do not add any substances into the water (e.g. inhalant, aromatic
substances etc.). This can cause health hazards to people and could
damage the product.
18. This humidifier requires regular cleaning. Refer to the cleaning
instructions.
19. Turn the humidifier OFF if you notice moisture on the inside of your
windows. For proper humidity reading use a hygrometer, which is
available in many hardware and department stores.
20. If the UV bulb breaks, do not vacuum or handle with your bare hands.
21. Do not block the scent pad heater air flow.
22. Do not place exposed Vicks scent pad on furniture, fabrics,
bedding, or plastics.

FIRST TIME OF USE
1. Remove product from box and remove packaging materials.
2. It is recommended that you disinfect your humidifier prior to first use.
See cleaning Instructions.
3. Select a firm, level location at least 15 cm from any walls for proper
airflow. Place the humidifier on a water resistant surface.
4. Soak filter and place it inside the unit (See appendix C on
page 5)
