3. Turn the quick releases a quarter turn anticlockwise to remove he cleaning plate, see figure 18.
Figure 18.
Figure 19.
4. When the cleaning plate is removed (figure 19) it is possible to remove dirt, dust, etc. that are stuck on the fins’ fan side and
limit airflow using a vacuum cleaner or a soft brush (non-metallic). If compressed air is available the coil can be blown clean
against the airflow direction at maximum 6-7 bar pressure. Blow with a straight angle towards the coil so that the fins do
not bend or are otherwise damaged. Vacuum clean or brush off the fan motor, fan blades and protective grille.
5. After this you spray with an approved detergent (figure 20) on the coil fins from both directions and then rinse with water
towards the fan. Rinse thoroughly at the bottom of the coil to make sure that all dirt is removed.
Figure 20.
Cleaning in Areas with Chloride
The unit needs to be cleaned every three months in areas containing chloride, even if the coil has not accumulated dirt that limits
airflow. This is necessary to have the longest possible operational life for the ElectroFin-painted coil and maintain efficient operation.
Recommended Detergent for Chloride Accumulation: CHLOR*RID
Read the detergent’s safety data sheet before use and follow the manufacturer’s instruction regarding how to use it.
7. Read the cleaning/maintenance instructions and carry out items 1-4.
8. It is very important that the temperature does not exceed 54°C (130°F) when cleaning and rinsing the coil.
9. Spray the coil from both directions (figure 20) with the approved salt/chloride remover to dissolve the salt.
10. Rinse the coil with clean water towards the fan.
11. Dry off the heater’s stainless cover on the inside and outside.
Install cleaning plate and deflector.
6. Dry off the inside and outside of the heater’s stainless cover.
