storage system are controlled by a current
sensor. It is installed in the control cabinet
directly downstream of the
consumption/feed meter and measures all
input and output currents.
If output currents are measured by the
current sensor while there is free storage
capacity in the energy storage system, the
system is charged. The alternating current
is converted to direct current by the
battery inverter in the energy storage
system and the battery module is
charged. After the maximum storage
capacity is reached or the maximum
charging current is exceeded by the
generated solar, the excessive solar
power is fed into the public grid. If the
current power consumption cannot be
covered by the photovoltaic system, the
input currents are measured by the
current sensor. In this case, the building
network is fed by the energy storage
system to minimise the use of external
power and the related costs.
Before installation of the VARTA energy
storage system, it must be clarified with
the responsible energy supplier/network
operator whether registration of the
system is required.
