Most of these applications do not have to be open at all times. You can
close these applications whenever you do not need them.
User Interface
When you log in, the AviMet system will start automatically. Depending
on your user profile and system configuration, some applications open
automatically. Others can be opened using Windows taskbar, the
Start
menu, or a desktop icon. The application windows can be resized and
arranged to make them visible at a glance.
For introduction to the user interface of the applications, refer to the
corresponding chapters in this manual.
Diagnostics Application
The main tool for maintenance personnel is the Diagnostics application,
see
Chapter 5, Diagnostics, on page 49 . The application displays system
status and events, and provides access to CDU switch-over control and
other maintenance applications.
AviMet Application Icons
If the icons for the applications you need are not visible when you log on
to the workstation, you are perhaps trying to log on with a username that
does not have the appropriate user profile. To solve the problem, log on
with the RCMUSER profile. See also section
Starting and Exiting
Applications on page 45 .
The typical icons used for AviMet applications are listed in the following
table.
NOTE
The icons available in your system and workstation may differ from the
one listed below because AviMet applications are configured for each
user profile and system separately.
