4.6 Oxygen toxicity (CNS O
2
%)
Oxygen toxicity is calculated from depth values and the gas mixture by the cal-
culation model and displayed in place of the ascent rate in percent of a maxi-
mum value tolerated (O
2
clock). The toxicity is expressed in 5%-increments.
Together with the percentage the symbol <CNS O
2
LIMIT> is displayed.
Messages:
An acoustic signal is sent if oxygen toxicity reaches
75%. The symbol <CNS O
2
LIMIT> and the percenta-
ge value are flashing.
Response: Value must no longer increase, go to smaller depth if
necessary.
Messages:
When oxygen toxicity reaches 100%, an acoustic
alarm is sent every 4 seconds.
<CNS O
2
LIMIT>
and the precentage value are flashing. See also page
58.
Response: Start ascent at once.
• During an ascent and if the CNS O
2
% value does not increase anymore (due to
a lower partial pressure of oxygen), the acoustic warning is suppressed.
• During the ascent, the display of the oxygen toxicity extinguishes and the
ascent rate is displayed. If the ascent is stopped, the display changes back to
the indication of the saturation value.
