If your saw does not have extension wings, use
a support that is the same height as the table.
The support must allow the workpiece to lay
flat against the table, it must be very stable,
and it must not move with the workpiece.

USING CARBIDE-TIPPED BLADES

WARNING: Read, understand and follow all

warnings and instructions provided with your
carbide-tipped blades.

Handle carbide-tipped blades carefully. Car-
bide is very brittle and can be easily damaged.
Use caution when you install, use and store
your blades. Do not use a carbide-tipped blade
that is bent or has bent teeth, or if the blade
has cracks, broken, missing or loose carbide
tips. Do not operate a carbide-tipped blade
faster than its maximum recommended speed.

CHANGING YOUR SAW BLADE

 WARNINGS:

• Before changing your saw blade, unplug
the power cord from the Electrical outlet. The
power cord must remain unplugged whenever
You are working on your saw.
• To avoid injury from a thrown workpiece, do
not use a blade larger Or smaller than 10" (25.4
cm).
• Do not use a dull saw blade. Additional force
is required to operate making it unsafe.

Immediately replace the saw blade if it shows
signs of deterioration or damage. Dull or dam-
aged saw blades can cause personal injury and
ineffective operation of your saw.

WARNING: Do not cut ferrous metals with

this machine. This miter saw is not warrantied
if used for cutting ferrous metals.

WARNING: To avoid injury, follow all ap-

plicable safety instructions, when cutting non-
ferrous metals:
• Use only saw blades specifically recommend-
ed for non-ferrous metal cutting.
• Do not cut metal workpieces that must be
hand held. Clamp workpieces securely.
• Cut non-ferrous metals only if you are under
the supervision of an experienced person.

1. Loosen the guard
plate screw (1) (Fig.
13).
2. Rotate the lower
blade guard up to ex-
pose the arbor screw
(2) (Fig. 14).
3. While pushing in on
the arbor lock (3) to
hold the blade in po-
sition, turn the arbor
screw clockwise using
the socket wrench
supplied with your
saw (Figs. 15 and 16).

NOTE: Turn the arbor screw clockwise to loosen
and counter-clockwise to tighten.
4. Remove the arbor screw, washer, outer blade
collar and blade. Do not remove the inner
blade collar.
5. Clean any sawdust from both blade collars
before installing the blade. Install a 10" (25.4
cm) blade only. Verify the rotation arrow on
the blade matches the cast-in rotation arrow
on the upper blade guard. Make sure the blade
is behind the flange.
6. Install the outer
blade collar (4), wash-
er (5) and arbor screw
(6). While pushing
in on the arbor lock,
turn the arbor screw
counter-clockwise to
tighten (Fig. 17).
7. Rotate lower blade guard and guard plate
down until the plate is behind the forward
plate screw. Tighten both guard plate screws.
8. Slightly raise the lower guard plate until the
screw and bushing can be threaded into the
brass nut. Tighten the screw and make sure the
bushing is centred in lever slot.
