NTRODUCTION
This section on troubleshooting provides guidelines
on the types of problems users may encounter in the
field, helps determine the cause of problems, and
suggests proper corrective action.
Careful inspection and accurate analysis of the
symptoms listed in the Troubleshooting Guide will
localize the trouble more quickly than any other
method. This manual cannot cover all possible prob-
lems that may occur. If a specific problem is not cov-
ered in this manual, call our toll free number for
service assistance.
Referring to Section 2.0 and 5.0 will aid in under-
standing the operation and function of the various
components and systems of the LX31/41 and help in
diagnosing and repair of the machine.
General Procedure
Use the charts on the following pages to help deter-
mine the cause of a fault in your UpRight LX31/41.
1. Verify your problem.
a. Do a full function test from both platform con-
trols and chassis controls and note all functions
that are not operating correctly.
2. Narrow the possible causes of the malfunction.
a. Use the troubleshooting guide to determine
which components are common to all circuits
that are not functioning correctly.
3. Identify the problem component.
a. Test components that are common to all cir-
cuits that are not functioning correctly. Remem-
ber to check wires and terminals between
suspect components. Be sure to check con-
nections to battery negative.
4. Repair or replace component found to be faulty.
5. Verify that repair is complete.
a. Do a full function test from both platform and
chassis controls to verify that all functions are
operating correctly and machine is performing
to specified values.

When troubleshooting, ensure that the work
platform is resting on a firm, level surface.
When performing any service which requires
the Platform to be raised, ensure that all four (4)
outriggers are properly installed.
Unplug the machine or disconnect the battery
when replacing or testing the continuity of any
electrical component.
