The charging time of a battery depends on its size, its condition and its level of discharge.

This battery charger has a maximum charging current of 3.2 A. The charging current

gradually decreases. By the end of the charging process it even becomes very low

because of the charger’s overcharge protection.

The charging process takes about 12 to 13 hours with a 40 Ah battery (3.2 A) or about

18 to 19 hours with a 60 Ah battery (3.2 A).

1.  Pull the battery charger’s mains plug out of the alternating current supply socket.

2.  Disconnect the negative charging clip (black) from the car bodywork or from the

negative terminal of the battery.

3.  Disconnect the positive charging clip (red) from the positive terminal of the battery.

Clean the device only when it is disconnected from the power supply, using a slightly

damp, soft cloth. Prevent liquids from penetrating the device.

At the end of its working life, do not dispose of this product in the domestic refuse

but at the points set up for the return of used electrical devices.

You can obtain more details from your public disposal authority.

Input voltage:

220 - 240 V AC / 50-60 Hz

Charging current:

Maximum 3.2 A

Output voltage:

  Motorcycle:

  1.2-14 Ah / 14.4 V DC – 0.9 A

 Car:

  14-120 Ah / 14.4 V DC – 3.2 A

  Cold weather:

  14-120 Ah / 14.7 V DC – 3.2 A

Suitable batteries:

12 Volt lead acid batteries

(including low-maintenance and maintenance-free ones),

gel and AGM batteries

.

•  Follow the battery manufacturer’s instructions. Attention: Battery acid is highly

corrosive and must not come into contact with parts of the body, fabrics, painted

surfaces or the like.

•  Attach the red clip to the + terminal of the battery.

•  Attach the black clip to the – terminal of the battery.

If the clips are connected the wrong way round (reversed), the LED warning light

comes on.

•  Make sure that the clips do not touch each other.

•  Put the charger’s plug into the socket.

•  Select the desired program with the Mode switch.

•  The battery is now being charged.

     The following programs can be

     activated with the MODE switch:

     Charging small battery types.

     Output/charging voltage: 1.2-14 Ah / 14.4 V DC – 0.9 A

     Charging normal batteries.

     Output/charging voltage: 14-120 Ah / 14.4 V DC – 3.2 A

     Charging in cold weather.

     Output/charging voltage: 14-120 Ah / 14.7 V DC – 3.2 A

Before you proceed to program selection, the charger must be connected to the battery

in accordance with the instructions and the plug must be put into a 230 V socket. In this

event, the “STANDBY” indicator will light up.

The desired program may be selected by repeatedly pressing the

MODE

 switch.

If the LED indicator lights up, there is a short circuit. (The battery clips are touching

each other and/or they are incorrectly connected). In that event, the charger must be

disconnected from the 230 V mains supply immediately. Then please check whether

the clips have been attached to the correct terminals.

     The battery is being charged.

     The battery is fully charged.

As soon as the battery is fully charged, you have two options:

•  You can disconnect the battery (firstly disconnecting the charger from the 230 V mains)

in order to use it.

•  You can leave the charger connected. The charging device will then continue to run

through the charging cycles in trickle charging mode.

Note the following here:

     •   The battery must be fully charged and the relevant indicator must light up

before the charger switches to trickle charging.

     •   If the battery can no longer be charged within 24 hours or the indicator

does not light up, the battery is faulty or not correctly connected to the

 charger.
