Low temperatures fuels.
Special winter fuels may be available for engine operation at temperatures below 0
O
C. These fuels limit the
formation of wax in the fuel at low temperatures. If wax forms in the fuel , this could stop the flow of fuel through the
filter. In rigid environmental temperature conditions, use special winterized diesel fuels or specific
additives in order to avoid the formation for paraffin
Coolant: Perkins recommends a 1:1 mixture of water and glycol. The ratio may be increased to 1:2 water to glycol if
extra freezing protection is required, A commercial heavy-duty coolant /antifreeze that meets: ASTM D4985
Do not use aerosol types of starting aids such as ether, such use could result in an explosion and personal injury.
Remove the tap and pour the liquid coolant into the radiator; the quantity and composition of the liquid coolant are
indicated in the engine operating manual. Replace the tap, ensuring it is perfectly closed.
After refilling operations, allow the engine to run for a brief time and check the level, as it may have diminished due to
air bubbles present in the cooling circuit, restore the level with water.
To replace the liquid coolant, follow the operations described in the engine operating manual.
To drain the coolant, open the coolant outlet at the bottom of the unit base. Open the radiator cap to allow complete
drainage.(tighten the valve and refill with a 50/50 antifreeze /water solution.) use an automotive grade (low silicate)
ethylene glycol antifreeze. The cooling system capacity is 10.2L. Squeeze upper and lower radiator hoses while filling
to bleed air from system coolant. Replace and tighten the radiator cap.
HOT COOLANT can burn skin
• Do not remove cap if radiator is hot or in operation.
• Hot coolant may spurt out and cause serious burns.
• Remove the cap very carefully.
Check the coolant level by observing the level in the radiator, Add 50/50 antifreeze/water solution,
Remove radiator cap and add coolant to radiator, fill up to the top of the tube in the radiator filler neck which includes a
connecting hose coming from the thermostat housing.

ATTENTION
CAUTION
WARNING
Do not smoke or use open flames during
refueling operations, in order to avoid
explosions or fire hazards.
Fuel fumes are highly toxic, carry out
operations outdoors only, or in a well
ventilated enviroment.
Avoid accidentally spilling fuel. Clean any
eventual leaks before starting up engine
