CHANGING COOLING WATER AND CLEANING INSIDE
OF RADIATOR
Remove the radiator cap and open the drain plugs at the radiator
and engine sides to drain cooling water completely. Drain the
cooling water tank, too.
Before adding cooling water, remove dust from the radiator core
using pressure water or compressed air. Pass clean water through
the system, close the drain cocks and then add cooling water.
Start the engine. The cooling water level may drop slightly. Shut
off the engine and add cooling water again properly.
Radiator-side drain cock
DRAIN COCK
(RADIATOR SIDE)
Do not remove the radiator cap immediately after the engine is
shut off; otherwise you will get burnt by hot water or steam. Use a
thick shop rag to turn the cap slightly to release the pressure.
For adding cooling water, use tap water, not sea water nor muddy
water.
Engine-side drain plug
DRAIN PLUG
(ENGINE SIDE)
Keep passing clean water through the cooling water circuit until
the drain plug port at the engine side. If the truck uses LLC, there
is no need to change the cooling water for 1 year.
When addition of cooling water is needed, add LLC so as to obtain
the same concentration as before.
