CHECKING STEERING LINKAGE
Check the bolts securing the steering linkage and the linkage itself
for looseness.
A: Steering cylinder mounting bolts
B: Rear axle mount bolts
C: Knuckle arm stopper bolt and nut
Tightening torque
Axle mount bolt (8):
782 N-m (80 kgf-m)
Steering cylinder mounting bolt (4): 782 N-m (80 kgf-m)
CHECKING AIR CLEANER ELEMENT
DUST CUP
TIGHTENING BAND
ELEMENT
DUST CUP
WING NUT
INDICATOR
Loosen the dust cup tightening band and remove the dust cup.
Remove the element tightening nut and take out the element.
Check the element for damage or contamination and the sealing
rubber for cracks or contamination.
Usually replace the air cleaner element with a new one every
2400 hours of operation. In addition, if the air cleaner element
warning light comes on, it is advisable to replace the element.
Clean the element in either of the following manners:
Using compressed air
CAUTION
When using compressed air, wear safety glasses.
Direct compressed air of less than 686 kPa or 7 kgf/cm
2
outside
the element at first. Then blow compressed air from inside out,
moving the nozzle up and down while rotating the element.
Tapping with a bar
If compressed air is not available, tap the element lightly with a bar
while rotating the element. Use caution not to deform the element.
Inspecting the element
Place light inside the element and if rupture or pin holes are
present, replace the element with a new one.
