The delivery volume of your AlgClear UV-C-device includes the following:
1 UVC device, 2 mounting brackets, 2 universal hose connectors 1 ½“, 1 screw coupling 1 ½“ for 2nd outlet,
1 UVC lamp, 1 protective cap for PLL lamps, 1 operating manual
Safety advice
WARNING: UV rays are dangerous for eyes and skin. The UV-C emitter must not be operated, if it has been taken out of the device housing!
CAREFUL: This device contains a UV-C emitter! Unintended usage of the device or damage to the housing can lead to the emission of dangerous UV-C
radiation. UV-C radiation can damage eyes and skin also in small doses.
• The power supply must meet the product specifications. Do not connect the device, if the power supply does not meet the specified regulations!
Further information can be obtained from your local, approved electrician.
• The Ubbink AlgClear UV-C–device must only be operated via a fault-current circuit breaker (Fi-switch /RCD) with a rated fault current of not more
than 30 mA. For further information, please contact your specialist electric dealer.
• The Ubbink AlgClear UV-C-device must only be started up after completed installation of all components and hose connections. Under no
circumstances must the device be used in water und must be installed beside the pond in such a way that overflowing is excluded.
• Checking the function of the UV-C-lamp must exclusively be carried by visual inspection through the sight glass (located in the front of the device).
Direct contact with the UV-C rays can cause injuries to eyes and/or skin.
• No transparent hoses must be used for AlgClear UV-C–device operation. We recommend using our black spiral pond hose. Furthermore, inlet and
outlet hose must be secured with hose clamps against unintended pulling off from the hose nipple.
• The device must be installed more than 2 m away from the pond or water basin and the mains
• In order to avoid overheating of the UV-C lamp, the AlgClear UV-C-device must only be started, if water flows through the housing. Never operate
the UV-C lamp outside the housing!
• The device must only be operated at a water temperature from +5 °C to +35 °C.
• It is essential to read the operating instructions before opening the AlgClear UV-C unit
• The power supply to the AlgClear UV-C unit must be switched off first before opening the unit (initial assembly, cleaning, installation and changing
the UV-C lamp etc.).
• The power supply cable cannot be replaced. Should the cable be damaged, the AlgClear UV-C-device must be disposed.
• The device may be used by children from the age of 8 upwards and also by people with physical, sensory or mental disabilities or lacking suitable
knowledge and experience, provided they are supervised or have been instructed in the use of the device and understand the resulting hazards.
Children must not be allowed to play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision..
• Keep children away from the packaging material and small parts. There is a risk of suffocation!
The right location for the Ubbink AlgClear UV-C
We recommend installing the AlgClear UV-C-device between pump and possibly existing pond filter. It is important that no coarse dirt and plant residues can enter the UV-C-device
so that the pond water can flow unhindered through the UV-C-device and be irradiated. In order to achieve visible successes from the UV-C-irradiation of the pond water, an AlgClear
UV-C-device should be used, which is large enough for the pond volume.
