18. COMMISSIONING

 

 

18.01 FUNCTIONAL SYSTEM TEST 

 

Press the door panel button to call the first flat number  

The telephone in the flat should ring (a video phone should also display the caller) 

When the handset is lifted the telephone should stop ringing 

Confirm the flat number called is the telephone answered  

Check two way speech between door/flat; check volume level is OK with no feedback 

Press the button to release the lock – the LED should flash green (red on a video phone) 

Check the speech cancels 

Check the door panel sounds a pulsed “door open” tone 

Check the door lock is released 

Check the door re-locks after it has closed 

Press the button to select privacy mode – the LED should illuminate red (green on a video phone) 

Call the same flat, the telephone should not ring and the door panel should sound an “OFF” tone 

Press the button again to turn privacy mode off – the LED will go out 

Call the same flat, answer the call then hang-up without releasing the lock 

Check the call cancels  

Repeat above tests for each flat  

Wedge the entrance door open and check the telephone “door open” LED’s illuminate after the pre-set delay. 

 

With the trade timeclock “OFF” check the door panel TRADE button does not function (single tone) 

Press the OVERRIDE button on the timeclock – the red “ON” LED should illuminate. 

Press the door panel TRADE button, the panel should sound a pulsed tone and the door lock should release.  

Press the OVERRIDE button again to return the timeclock to AUTO mode. 

 

 

18.02 FUNCTIONAL WITH DISPLAY SYSTEM TEST 

 

Press the door panel button to call the first flat number 

Check the flat number displayed is the same as that engraved on the door panel button 

The telephone in the flat should ring and the display should show “

CALL

” 

(a video phone should also display the caller) 

When the handset is lifted the ring tone should stop and the display should show “

ANS

” 

Confirm the flat number called is the telephone answered  

Check two way speech between door/flat; check volume level is OK with no feedback 

Press the button to release the lock – the LED should flash green (red on a video phone) 

Check the speech cancels 

Check the door panel sounds a pulsed tone and the display flashes “

OPEN

” 

Check the door lock is released 

Check the door re-locks after it has closed 

Press the button to select privacy mode – the LED should illuminate red (green on a video phone) 

Call the same flat, the telephone should not ring and the display should show “

FLAT XX OFF

” 

Press the button again to turn privacy mode off – the LED will go out 

Call the same flat, answer the call then hang-up without releasing the lock 

Check the call cancels and the display shows “

HUNG UP

” 

Repeat above tests for each flat  

Wedge the entrance door open and check the telephone “door open” LED’s illuminate after the pre-set delay. 

Note: if the door contact is operating correctly the display will show “



” when the door is open. 

 

With the trade timeclock “OFF” check the door panel TRADE button does not function (display shows “

OFF

”) 

Press the OVERRIDE button on the timeclock – the red “ON” LED should illuminate. 

Press the door panel TRADE button, the panel should sound a pulsed tone, the display should flash “

OPEN

” 

and the door lock should release.
