9. VIDEO PHONES
9.06 CONVERSATION TIME
When a video phone is called the conversation time starts when the handset is lifted.
The conversation time will cancel if the handset is replaced on the hook or when the lock is released
.
The caller can cancel the conversation time by pressing any button on a functional door panel or the CANCEL
button on a digital door panel.
On door panels with an LED display the flat number flashes during the last 10 seconds of conversation time
then displays “
END OF CALL
”.
Note: the conversation time is programmable from 15 to 70 seconds (default 40 seconds).
There’s an option in programming to extend the conversation time until the end of the lock release period.
9.07 VIDEO PHONE CONNECTIONS
Each video phone must be individually wired to the system/distribution nodes using a 6 pair CW1308 twisted
pair cable. Remove the handset from the cradle, undo the screw and remove the cover to access the
termination PCB inside. Each screw terminal reference and function is listed in the table below. Also see the
wiring diagram ZV508I/ZV516I sheet 1.
9.08 PICTURE ADJUSTMENT
Use a blunt instrument such as a ball point pen to press the 3 hidden buttons through holes on the front face
of the video phone.
9.09 OPTIONAL STROBE
A hard of hearing strobe light can be connected to the video phone
terminals “S+” and “0V”.
IMPORTANT: the current requirement for a strobe light is approx 200mA.
If multiple phones and strobes are required in the same dwelling
ensure the distribution port fuse rating of 1A is not exceeded.
