11. VIDEO AMPLIFIERS & SWITCHERS
On large installations it may be necessary to amplify the video signal so it can be distributed throughout the
building via multiple risers. It extreme cases the video signal may need to be corrected and re-amplified at a
remote part of the building. On multi-entrance systems a video switcher is required to select the camera signal
from the entrance in use for the duration of the call. See part numbers below;

11.01 VIDEO DISTRIBUTION AMPLIFIERS (2/4 OUTPUT)
These are used to split a video signal into 2 or 4 identical outputs with no loss in signal strength or quality.
They can be used as launch amplifiers to enhance picture quality over longer transmission distances (up to
1000 metres when used with good quality RG59 coaxial cable).
Both the 2 & 4 output models have adjustable gain and high frequency lift controls to fine-tune the video
signal on installations where multiple rising coax cables are required.
For detailed connections see Tynetec Drg No. ZV508I/ZV516I sheet 4.
11.02 VIDEO CORRECTOR/EXTENDER
This is used to compensate for signal losses in the coaxial cable thereby enabling high quality pictures to be
transmitted over long distances. This unit equalizes the incoming cable losses to a maximum of 35dB at
4.4MHz, increasing to 45dB when used with a 2/4 output video distribution amplifier.
It has adjustable gain and both high & medium frequency lift controls to fine-tune the video signal on
installations where very long distances need to be covered.
For detailed connections see Tynetec Drg No. ZV508I/ZV516I sheet 4.
