5.01 Error Codes and Remedies

01--
This protection
circuit is activated
whenever weld
current flows in
the ground fault
protective circuit.
Fault light flashes
at a rate of
approximately 0.5
second ON, 0.5
second OFF.
Weld current is detected
running through the ground
fault protective circuit.
1. Look for metallic dust build up
between the wirefeed plate assembly/
motor and the Wirefeeder frame and
remove the metallic dust build up. Turn
OFF Wirefeeder then ON again to clear
ERR 01.
2. Check to see if metal wire spool or
wire reel is contacting the chassis at any
point of its rotation.
3. Check for damage to insulators
between feed plate and chassis.

03--
Emergency
shutdown
Motor current exceeds 10
amps due to seized motor or
clogged liner or filler metal
wire too big for MIG Gun
liner or spool hub tension too
tight or wire melted to tip or
problem with wire spool, etc.
1. Defective motor
Turn OFF Wire feeder then check motor /
feed mechanism can rotate.
2. Defective Motor Control PCB1

Protective shutdown
Motor current exceeds 5
amps for 10 seconds due to
clogged liner or filler metal
wire too big for MIG Gun
liner or spool hub tension too
tight or wire melted to tip or
problem with wire spool, etc.
1. Wire feedability problem
a) Excessive Wire Spool Brake tension
b) Excessive Feed Roll pressure
c) Damaged or incorrect Feed Roll
d) Damaged wire guide
e) Damaged or Incorrect size MIG gun
liner
f) Damaged or Incorrect size MIG gun
tip
g) Wire spool problem - wire does not
feed smoothly off from spool.

3. Defective Motor Control PCB1

05--
Feedback signal of
motor lost
Tachometer feedback wiring
between Wirefeeder motor
and Motor Control PCB1 not
connected or motor is stalled.
1. Measure the voltage between P2-1
and P2-4 on Motor Control PCB1. If
+5.0V is not present, replace PCB1.
2. Check the wire continuity between
P2 and the motor. If it shows continuity,
replace the motor.
