SOLUTION

Use the syringe for the blank solution to flush the flow cell with 60 mL of blank solution. Then inject

another 60 mL blank solution and allow it to remain in the flow cell by leaving the syringe attached.

Bubbles trapped during injection are a possible source of instrument error. With the syringe in a
vertical position, tap against a solid object to move bubbles to the needle end of the syringe. Then,
force bubbles out by pushing a small amount of solution through the needle end of the syringe.
