Many power supplies look alike. Make certain you are
using the proper power supply for the AM510. Using the
wrong power supply will permanently damage the
instrument and void the warranty.
The power supply cannot run the SidePak monitor and charge
the battery at the same time. Make sure the instrument is off to
facilitate charging. If the display does not show CHARGING
BATTERY, it is
not charging.
When the power supply is first plugged into the AM510, the
display will first show DETECTING BATTERY TYPE. If a TSI
NiMH battery pack is detected, the display will show CHARGING
BATTERY until charging is completed. Once the battery is fully
charged, the display will show CHARGING COMPLETE. The
instrument may be turned on at any time during or after the
charging process by pressing the PAGE key. Turning the
instrument on during the charging process will abort charging.
If the 6-cell AA-size battery pack is detected (regardless of
installed cell type) or there is no battery pack at all, the display
will show CHARGING OFF after 30 seconds. It is
