Suspension
Warning
After selecting and/or adjusting a
suspension
mode, operate the
motorcycle in an area free from traffic
to gain familiarity with the new
settings.
Do not loan your motorcycle to
anyone as they may change the
suspension settings from the one you
are familiar with, causing loss of
motorcycle control and an accident.
The Speed Triple 1200 RR is fitted with
Öhlins
Smart EC 2.0 semi-active
suspension. This system features a total
of six settings: three adaptive and three
fixed settings.
The adaptive settings continuously and
automatically adjust the suspension
compression and rebound damping. This
is based on the dynamic condition of
the motorcycle in accordance with the
setting as preselected by the rider. This
optimises suspension damping while
riding.
The fixed settings operate like
conventional, manually adjustable
suspension. The level of compression
and rebound damping can be set by the
rider and this preset level is maintained
until the rider changes it. Fixed settings
are not continuously and automatically
adjusted.
