Once the rotating assembly is installed in the pump casing, insert the impeller bolt

and torque the capscrew to 90-ft. lbs.

L. INSTALLING THE ROTATING ASSEMBLY

Lubricate the bearing housing O-ring with light grease then install by easing the

rotating assembly into the pump casing. Use the installation tool or a pipe slid over

the shaft for this procedure, being careful to avoid damaging the O-ring.

Hand tighten the attaching hardware to install the bearing housing plate.

Release the hardware located on the outer bolt circle of the rotating assembly

retaining ring.

Completely seat the front wearplate against the inside pump case shoulder before

installing.

Lightly coat the front wearplate gasket with a sheer film of grease then install. Be

careful to avoid stretching the gasket. Place the gasket in the groove between the

pump case and the front wearplate. Align at four points 90° apart (see Figure 11, 1

below), then slip the gasket in between the points, alternating at opposing clock

positions when necessary (see Figure 11, 2 below) to assure the gasket is evenly in

place.

Next, install the suction inlet with the attaching hardware. Check to be sure the

hardware is evenly tight.

Refer to Section IV. Part I. Installing and Adjusting in these instructions to accurately

set impeller and wearplate clearance.

M. INSTALLING THE SUCTION CHECK VALVE

Enter the case through the suction inlet inspection port to install the suction check

valve assembly. Press the suction check valve up into the check valve cover plate

so the 2 check valve blocks shift from a vertical to a horizontal position.
