Supply-Air Ductwork
Horizontal DXH and EXH units require duct flanges to
be field installed. The duct flange ships in a box on the
side of the unit. Install the flange with (8) 3/8 in. (213
mm) factory supplied screws.
Install the 1 in. (25.4 mm) supply-air duct flange to the
vertical and horizontal equipment with the (8) 5/16 in.
(7.94 mm) factory-supplied head screws. The duct
collar assembly for each unit is shipped with the unit in
the same box where the IOM manual is located.
When attaching the field ductwork to the unit, provide a
watertight flexible connector at the unit to prevent
operating sounds from transmitting through the
ductwork (See the figure below).
Elbows with turning vanes or splitters are
recommended to minimize air noise due to turbulence
and to reduce static pressure.

Return-Air Ductwork
Install the 1/2 (25.4 mm/50.8 mm) adjustable filter rack
to the horizontal equipment only with the use of (4) 5/
16 in. (7.94 mm) factory supplied head screws. The
vertical equipment factory ships with the filter rack and
filter(s) installed.

Ducted Panel
The return-air arrangement may be easily converted
from a free return-air system, to a ducted return-air
system with the addition of a return-air side panel. By
replacing the filter racks with the return-air panel, a
complete seal from the duct to the unit is possible. The
1.5 duct flange facilitates ease of field connection to the
duct system. This accessory is typically used when the
return-air filter is placed in a built-in ceiling grille, or
placed within a field provided filter rack assembly.
Install the return-air duct panel to the return-air
opening with the six screws provided for the filter rack
assembly.
