Insert the comparator disc for Ammonia into the recess on the right hand side of the comparator with the
numbers facing forwards as shown in fig 1.0
Fill the two vials to the 10ml mark with sample water
Place one in the left side of the comparator as shown in fig 1.1. This is the reference cell
Sample preparation:
•
Add
one Ammonia No.1 tablet
straight from the foil to the water sample in the second cell.
•
Crush the tablet using a clean stirring rod, until no large pieces are visible.
•
Add
one Ammonia No.2 tablet
straight from the foil to the same sample.
•
Crush the tablet using a clean stirring rod, until no large pieces are visible.
•
Fit rubber stopper to the cell and invert several times until the tablet is dissolved.
•
Leave the sample to stand for 10 minutes.
