1.8  DVD-R/-RW drive 

The DVD-R/-RW drive accommodates either 12 cm (4.72-inch) or 8 cm (3.15- inch) CD, 
CD-R/RW and DVD. It is a high-performance drive that reads DVD at maximum 8-speed, 
writes DVD-R at 2-speed, and reads CD at maximum 24-speed (3,600 KB per second). 

The DVD-R/-RW drive is shown in Figure 1-9. The specifications of  the DVD-R/-RW drive 
are described in Table 1-7.
