3-3-8. LAN Communication
Under the LAN mode, DSP starts communicating with the LAN control IC. The LAN communication
becomes possible by supplying the power to the analog section of the LAN controlling IC. In order to do so,
it is required to turn the LANEN line to HIGH at the same time the DSP starting its communication.
3-3-9. Flash Operation
The flash battery is charged by generating a PWN pulse in the CHGPWM line. The charging stops by the
DSP confirming that the STRDY line is LOW. The flash performs by outputting LOW-HIGH-LOW pulse in
the XTON line and applying pulse to IGBT of the flash unit.
3-3-10. Battery Charge Operation
The battery charge IC on the POWER board starts charging the battery when the CHG1 line turns to HIGH.
When the battery’s inside temperature becomes too high or too low, the charge abort signal will be sent to
the battery charge IC. Then, the IC will stop charging the battery.
3-3-11. Irregular Mode Detect Line
The following shows the description for electrical surge detection on the POWER board, and the lines
related to the battery detection.
- DET33V line: It monitors the disconnection of the power cable. It turns to LOW when neither the AC
adapter nor the battery generates the power greater than the specified level. When this line
turns to LOW, the sub-microcomputer starts turning the power off.
- UL33 line:
It turns to LOW when there is no power supply from the battery or the AC adapter. When
this line turns to LOW, the sub-microcomputer will not begin the start-up sequence.
- URES line:
It turns to LOW when there is no battery voltage, no power supply from the AC adapter, and
no remaining battery power for clock (Voltage of U3V line is below 2.2). When this line
becomes LOW, the sub-microcomputer will be reset.
