Connecting the cables
Connecting the telephone cable for FxS interface
Voxell LCR is shipped with a piece of flat telephone cable, wired on both side with RJ11
connectors. Depending upon the actual condition of installation, you may need a second piece of
cable, or a greater length of telephone cable.
)
Connect the telephone cable with one of the end to the FXS connector, and the
other end to the PBX trunk of PBX exchange or an analogue phone.
Figure 2.: FXS connection
The analog telephone set can be used for initiating or receiving calls and also for Voxell LCR
configuration (among other parameter settings, the inserting PIN code).
If the terminal trunks of the exchange have not equipped with standard RJ11 connectors,
you can couple the two middle wires of telephone cable directly to internal distributing frame of
PBX exchange (the central two wires of the cable).
!
Voxell LCR should not be connected to an ISDN interface of PBX exchange.
! Improper installing the Voxell LCR equipment might lead to damage of equipment or PBX
exchange. (If you join a local line of PBX exchange to the FxS connector of Voxell LCR, then both
equipments will generate current into the connection cable, in this way Voxell LCR and PBX
exchange may be damaged).
Connecting the telephone cable for FXO interface
)
Connect the telephone cable with one of the end to the FXO connector, and the
other end to a local subscriber interface of PBX exchange or to the PSTN
network (The connecting FXO cable has RJ11 connectors).
!
If no restrictions exist for subscriber access rights assigned for extension that Voxell LCR was
installed, any caller of the fixed network who rings to the Voxell LCR number can obtain the
access to outgoing trunks. So his calls will be billed to the owner of PBX exchange.
