6-6. Power Saving (ECO) Mode
When the centrifuge is not active use for a certain period while the power saving (ECO)
mode has been selected, it will automatically turn to power saving mode to reduce the power
consumption during the standby state.
Press the key. (A single “pip” sounds.)
The ECO indicator lamp illuminates to indicate the power saving (ECO) mode is selected.

To select the ECO mode

If this lamp has been illuminated, it indicates that the centrifuge entered power saving mode in the
previous run.

If the ECO key is pressed while the ECO indicator lamp is on, the ECO mode is cancelled.
If the ECO mode has been selected and a preset amount of time when the centrifuge is inactive
has elapsed, the system will automatically go into power saving mode. To change the setting
of the ECO mode shift time, refer to “7-8. ECO Mode Shift Time Setting”. When the centrifuge
enters power saving mode, the temperature control inside the chamber changes so that the
temperature bands are widened to allow power saving.

During the ECO mode operation all the lights are turned
off except the stop and ECO indicator lamps and the
Speed/RCF display indicates “Eco”.
To exit the power saving (ECO) mode, press any key on the control panel or turn the jog dial or
open the chamber lid.

Note that the temperature inside the chamber may be higher than the set value just after the time when
the centrifuge exits the ECO mode. However, it will return to its set temperature in approximately
three minutes.
