System Requirements
Remote Control Installations (in console operation)
Control Relay Specifications
•
A control relay for submersible pumps is required.
•
Any motor relay used must be U.L. Listed and have:
120V system voltage, coil rated at 0.5 A maximum with
appropriate suppression to prevent electrical backlash on
controlling circuit.
or
240V system voltage, coil rated at 0.5 A maximum with
appropriate suppression to prevent electrical backlash on
controlling circuit.
•
Relay contact rating should be equal to, or greater than, the
submersible pump amperage requirements.
Emergency Shut-Off
The national Electrical Code requires that a switch or other acceptable
means that will turn off all power simultaneously (including grounded
neutral) must be used (Refer to NEC CODE, Article 514). An emergency
shut-off system (per N.F.P.A. 30A, see page iv) should be in place. In console
operation, the Model 67/67A/67B interface boxes provide an emergency
relay for this function. See note at left.
Stand Alone Installations (no console operation)
•
A minimum of six (6) inches must be maintained between all
Tokheim cabinets and any other enclosures and/or devices to
allow free movement of air.
•
Communication control systems such as the Models 67/67A/
67B interface boxes or terminal/POS systems are not
required for stand alone installations.
•
A control relay for submersible pumps is required.

In console operation,
the Model 67/67A/67B
interface box provides
a means to shut off all
electrical power to the
dispenser as specified
by the National
Electrical Code and
applicable State and
Local code
requirements.
CAUTION:
The emergency relay
in the 67/67A/67B
interface boxes is
rated for 50 Amperes
maximum. Additional
external relays may
be required.
