Active DHCP server
Your tiptel 106 VoIP is automatically assigned an IP address when it is switched on.
You can see which IP address has been assigned in the DHCP server data. The
server usually has a list entitled "DHCP clients" where you will find your tiptel 106
VoIP. Locate the MAC address for the tiptel 106 VoIP in this list. You will find this at
the top of the yellow sticker located on the base of the device. Alternatively, the name
"SIPURA SPA" may be displayed. Please write down the IP Address stated. This is
required later for the configuration program.
If it is not possible to access the list of DHCP clients, the tiptel 106 VoIP can read out
the IP address. This is done as follows:
•
Insert the RJ11-RJ11 cable supplied into the "PHONE" socket (see above)
and in an analog telephone set to tone dialing (DTMF). Check which sockets
the telephone uses! To meet international standards the "a/b" pair of wires
must be in the middle on contacts 3 and 4. Older Deutsche Telekom and
Siemens telephones may use other sockets. If this is the case use an
adapter cable (not supplied).
•
Ensure that the "LINE" socket is not used! If necessary, remove the cable
that is plugged in there.
•
When you lift the receiver of the analog telephone you will hear an
interrupted dial tone. Immediately dial
in quick succession.
•
An announcement is made in English. At the end of this announcement dial
. The numbers entered are read out for checking.
•
When input has ended, the numbers of the IP address are read out in
English. "Dot" refers to the dots between the individual numbers/number
groups. You usually get a number like 192.168.1.10, depending on the
configuration of the DHCP server used in your network. Please write down
the stated IP address. This is required later to configure the program.
Ensure that the tiptel 106 VoIP has unrestricted Internet access (no IP address
blocking, no MAC address blocking in router or in the firewall).
Inactive DHCP server
Your tiptel 106 VoIP is not assigned an IP address when it is switched on. You have
to assign it manually. Ask your network administrator which settings are required to
manually assign an IP address. Obtain a free IP address that is authorized for Internet
access (no IP address blocking, no MAC address blocking in the router or firewall).
Enter the IP address as follows:
