5.1 Check battery condition
The latest battery status is symbolised by a three-stage battery indicator on the display.

Attention!
When the empty battery symbol flashes, then no more measurements can be performed and the
battery has to be replaced immediately.
The device requires a 9 V block battery IEC 6LR61 / 6LF22 / 6LP3146 (alkali-manganese).
Battery change
Remove the display unit from the basic pipe:
Unscrew the two white screws
(do not use a tool, use a coin if
necessary)

Remove the holding bracket and pull the device out of its holder.
Unscrew the cover of the battery
compartment on the back of the device.
Let the battery slide out of the protection cover.
Release battery contacts.
After connecting the new battery use the protection cover to insert
the battery into the battery compartment, tighten the cover.
Erect the display unit on the basic pipe:
Put the device back into the holder and close the holding bracket.
Fasten the white screws by hand
(do not use a tool, use a coin if
necessary)
but keep a 3 mm gap for the spring mechanism of the
display unit.
Attention!
Voltage testers may not be used with open battery box.
Only use the erected MultiSafe DSP HS36 on the basic pipe in
connection with the test probe!
