3) Snap off the fan cover on the outside of the enclosure. This cover
contains the air intake filter and a screen.
4) Take out the filter and screen and brush any dirt off. If they are
covered with a sticky coating, wash both the filter and with a mild
soap solution and water. If either part is damaged, they should be
replaced.
5) If the filter and/or screen was washed in the liquid solution, allow
them to dry before reinstalling them into the cover.
6) Reinstall the filter and screen into the cover and remount the
assembly.
7) Replace the pump compartment cover.

NSPECTING
“V” S
EALS
There are two “V” seals used in the hub unit of the Partisol sampler: one mounted
above and one mounted below the filter cassette. Also, there are two “V” seals used
in each satellite unit. These seals ensure that the sample flow passes through the
sample filter and seals the filter from leaks. These seals must be kept clean and
inspected frequently for damage.
Tools Needed:
Clean dry cloth
Materials:
Upper “V” seal (R&P P/N 22-002680)
Lower “V” seal (R&P P/N 22-005957)
Follow these steps to check the “V” seals:
1) Open the filter exchange mechanism as if to perform a filter ex-
change. Remove any sample filter cassette installed.
2) Locate the two “V” seals, one mounted above and one mounted
below the filter cassette. Examine each for damage. Wipe seals
with a clean dry cloth, if required.
3) Replace damaged “V” seal, if necessary.
4) Perform a system leak test (Section 3.1.5).
