ADJUSTMENTS
Read the safety instructions
PARKING BRAKE (Fig.29 / 30)
To loosen or tighten brakes:
1.
Adjust (2) brake cable nuts at P.
2.
Additional adjustment can be made by removing
the tractor wheels, following the cable to brake
arm Q and adjusting both brake cable nuts at S.
3.
Adjust both brake cables to achieve the same
tension.
4.
Brake bands should not drag when the brake is
disengaged.
REAR WHEEL TOE-IN (Fig.31)
The rear wheels should have 1/8" (3.2mm) toe-in
from the front of the wheel to the back of the wheel.
Adjust as follows:
1.
Loosen locknuts N at balljoints near both rear
wheels.
2.
Rotate the tie rod O until wheels are correctly
positioned. Adjust both tie rods an equal amount.
3.
Re-tighten locknuts. The tires should then be 1/
8" closer at the front than the rear.
ALTERNATOR BELT (Fig.32)
Belt tension should be checked half way between the
crankshaft pulley and alternator pulley. With a finger
force of approximatetly 11 lb ( 5 Kg) the belt should
deflect 0.2" (5mm) if not adjust as follows:
1.
Loosen S pivot bolts (underneath the alternator).
2.
Loosen bolt T and move alternator until correct
tension is obtained.
3.
Tighten bolt T.
4.
Tighten S pivot bolts.
