ENGINE LUBRICATING OIL
Checking oil (Fig.21)
l
Engine oil level is indicated on dipstick B
(should be between the two marks).
l
Before using the machine for the first time,
check the oil level in the engine crankcase.
Top-up through A if necessary.
l
When checking oil level, make sure the ma-
chine is on level ground.
l
After adding or changing oil, wait one minute
before checking level with dipstick.
Changing oil
l
Warm up the engine first and then shut it off.
l
Remove oil drain plug from the bottom of the
crankcase and wipe it off.
l
Replace the drain plug and fill engine with oil
(see the Fluid Requirements chart for amount
and type).
l

more information.
Oil filter (Fig.22)
l
Single-unit cartridge that is replaced intact.
l
Apply thin coat of oil to cartridge gasket before
installing.
l
Check for oil leaks around the cartridge gasket
after engine is started.
