Operating Instructions
Operation from Main Platform
To Position the Platform
1 Check that the red Emergency Stop button is
pulled out to the on position.
2 Turn the platform remote panel switch to the on
position.
3 Move the appropriate switch according to the
markings on the control panel.
4 Push and hold the hydraulics function enable
button.
Note: Platform extension is locked out until the
platform has rotated 45 degrees from parallel with
the bridge wall.
To Drive the Platform
1 Check that the intercom system is turned on at
both the base and platform controls.
2 All platform occupants must stand near the
platform control panel, out of the way of any
collision hazards, during travel.
3 Give directions to the ground operator.
Towing
1 Check that the parking brake is set.
2 Secure the platform in the fully stowed position.
3 Attach and secure both outrigger safety chains.
4 Raise the tongue by turning the jack handle on
the front drive system.
5 Position the tow vehicle so that the pintle hook
can be securely latched.
6 Lower the trailer tongue onto the tow vehicle
hitch, by turning the jack handle on the front
drive system.
7 Check that the trailer is level. If the trailer is not
level while its on the tow vehicle hitch, adjust
the height of the hitch so that the bottom of the
trailer chassis tube is 24in (+/- 2 in) in above the
road surface.
8 Close the latch on the tow vehicle coupler.
9 Attach the safety chains and the brake cables to
the vehicle. Cross the chains under the hitch.
10 Using the jack handle on the front drive system,
raise the drive wheel to the fully stowed
position.
11 Connect and test the trailer lights.
12 Release the parking brake.
