3.2 Serial Connection
Another possibility to connect with the encoder is with a serial connection. Therefore you
need the ENC-100 com-cable (ENC-100-COMCAB). The com-cable is an optional ENC
accessory, and needs to be ordered separately.

Connect your ENC-100 via the ENC-100-COMCAB to the serial port of your computer.
Open the Hyper Terminal application. Hyper Terminal is a communication software which is
included with Microsoft Windows. To run Hyper Terminal click Start/Accessories. Within
accessories double click Hyper Terminal (If you do not see Hyper Terminal click the
communications folder and then click Hyper Terminal).
