This menu defines the parameters for the ENC's integrated comport/serial port.
Mode:
C
ONSOLE
– enables access and control of the ENC-100 configuration via
the com-cable (ENC-100-COMCAB). Use this cable to set the ENC
configuration if you do not want to use web access.
P
ASSTHROUGH
– enables setting the comport to a com-server/serial
server mode. RS-232 and RS-485 devices can be connected and
controlled via the comport. This is useful, for example when cameras
or other non-IP, non-network devices need to be remotely controlled.
RS-232/485 commands can be tunneled and sent via TCP/IP to the
ENC-100 comport, where they then will be returned into native RS-
232/485 commands.
When a connection is opened to the IP Address of the encoder at port
7777, the serial server function in the ENC-100 is activated and any
data (string) is passed straight to the connected RS-232/485 device.
Once the connection is established, this also works the other way for
information coming back from the RS-232/485 device.
Bitrate, Databits, Parity, Stopbits, Flowcontrol:
Allows to set the comport parameters in order to match the exact
protocol for connected RS-232/485 equipment.
