Appendix 3 – ISDN Cause Phrases/Values 301
Appendix 3: ISDN Cause Phrases/Values
When
there
is
an
ISDN
event
or
problem
in
the
network,
a
cause
code
appears
on
the
LCD
screen
or
ISDN
protocol
log
that
communicates
information
about
the
cause
of
the
trouble.
See
section
12.2
for
how
to
enable
ISDN
logging
through
the
serial
or
Telnet
port.
These
“Cause
Values”
are
numbers
generated
by
the
network,
which
the
Xstream
translates
to
the
associated
phrases.
When
possible,
we
use
those
suggested
by
the
Bellcore
standard.
Note
that
in
some
cases
there
may
be
more
than
one
meaning.
This
can
frequently
be
evaluated
by
whether
the
message
has
been
received
by
the
calling
party
or
the
called
party,
or
by
the
ISDN
protocol
being
used.
We
have
included
the
most
common
cause
codes
here.
