1.
Install the test hookup and preset the instrument controls:
a. Initialize the oscilloscope:
H
Press save/recall SETUP .
H
Press the main-menu button Recall Factory Setup .
H
Press the side-menu button OK Confirm Factory Init .
b. Hook up the test-signal source:
H
Set the Vertical SCALE to 1 Volt per division.
H
Connect the output of a function generator through a 50
Ω
precision
coaxial cable and a 50
Ω
terminator to the CH 1 input.
H
Set the output of the function generator for a 5 MHz, 0 to 4 Volt
(4 division) square wave at the oscilloscope input.
H
Move the setup from the CH 1 input to the AUX TRIGGER/EXT
CLOCK input on the rear panel of the oscilloscope (see
Figure 4--17).
