6 Operating the unit
6.1 Switching the TV on and off
6.1.1 Switching on using the mains power switch on the television

The TV now performs an initialisation and cannot be operated during this time. This
process can take a few seconds depending on the number of DVR recordings on the
hard drive.
6.1.2 Switching on from standby mode

Switch on the television by pressing the
On/Standby
button on the remote control,
or by holding down the
On/Standby
sensor on the television for 2 seconds, or by
pressing the
Pro/-
buttons on the remote control, or by holding down the
Pro/-
sensor on the television for 2 seconds, or by pressing a number key
from
0
to
9
on the remote control.
The operating status is indicated by the green LED, provided this is activated.
If the user-dependent parental control (TechniFamily) has been enabled, the user
selection now appears as per section 6.1.3.
6.1.3 Switching off to standby mode

Switch off the device by pressing the
On/Standby
button on the remote control or by
holding down the
On/Standby
sensor on the television for 2 seconds.
When switching off the TV, please note that it checks whether a new operating
software version or channel list is available. This process takes several seconds to
complete. The LCD panel is already switched off during the test.
The device switches completely into standby mode after completion of the test. The TV
is now in standby mode and can be completely switched off using the mains power
switch. In standby mode the LED lights up red or the time appears in the display,
provided that this is activated in the main menu under
Settings > Basic Settings
.
6.1.4 Switching off using the mains power switch on the television

The device notes the last switching status (
On
or
Off
) entered using the remote
control or the television buttons.
If a power failure occurs during operation, you should switch off the television using
the mains power switch so that it is not switched on again unintentionally as soon as
the power is available again.
You should only switch the television off from standby mode using the mains power
switch to avoid damage to files or the hard drive.
