Speaker Configuration 2
SP Size
In order to get the best sound, we recommend using
only the speakers supplied with this unit. If you are
using other speakers, please refer to the chart below
for best results.
Note: If using speakers other than those supplied, use
only 6-8 ohm speakers with maximum power handling of
50W.
Speaker combinations
Input the distance from your listening
position
Press the SETUP button.
"SP SIZE" appears on the front panel's display.
Press the
b
button.
"SP DELAY" appears on the display.
Press the
t
button.
"SURR" appears on the display.
Press the
t
button.
"S 15MS" appears on the display.
Press the

b
buttons to change the setting.
Input the distance from your listening position to
front speakers.
You can change the setting from 15 to 30 MS.
When all the configurations have been finished,
press the SP SETUP button (or leave the unit for 10
seconds) to exit the Speaker Setup mode.

Balancing relative volume between
speakers using Test Tone
The test tone function is useful to adjust the relative vol-
ume between speakers.
Once the balance is set, you don't have to change the
balance as long as the speakers aren't moved.

It is also possible to adjust the relative volume during
playback of DVD.

Use the remote control from your listening position.
During playback of DVD, press the SP SETUP button.
"SP SIZE" appears on the front panel's display.
Press the
b
button twice.
"TEST TONE" appears on the display.
Press the
t
button.
"FL LEVEL" (Level of Front Left) appears on the dis-
play.
Press the
t
button.
"FL 0" appears on the display.
Press the

b
buttons to change the setting.
The level can be adjusted in 1 dB steps from -10 dB
to +10 dB.
Press the
t
button.
The next configuration (C LEVEL) appears on the dis-
play.
Repeat step
to
to change other settings.
When all the configurations have been finished,
press the SP SETUP button (or leave the unit for 10
seconds) to exit the Speaker Setup mode.
