After having executed the calibration of the hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-65 successfully, your
have to execute the crimp height measurement has to be done as follows:
1.
Setup the hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-65 with a typical die adapter, die set and suitable
safety guard.
2.
Setup a program
(“P1”, “P2”, or “P3”) or use an existing program. The lower crimp end
position has to be programmed so that the die halves come together and the tone of the
hydraulic unit will change indicating the increase in pump load.
You may also check that
the program closes the dies in a real crimping situation and the crimp height is reached.
3.
Mount the magnet measuring support to
the base plate of the machine. Setup the
DTI touching the lower die set so that the
downward movement of the lower die set
can be indicated. Ensure that the running
of the program will not cause a collision
with the DTI. Ensure that the tooling and
measuring device are mounted securely
and firmly so as to avoid errors.
4.
Turn the key switch (see chapter 4.3.4/Fig. 4.6) to the left to enter the
“Production Mode”
.
Depress the foot switch so that the dies are closing. When the upper head moves down
and closes the dies until they are under hydraulic pressure the lower die will make a minimal
downward movement and you will see a movement on the DTI. The DTI indication needle
moves to a specific point on the dial and remains there. Repeated running of the program
should show identical movements on the DTI within the tolerance of +/- 0,020 mm. Repeat
the test at least 50 times.
5.
If the test shows variable readings on the DTI outside of the tolerance, you should check
that the tooling and DTI mounting points are secure and that the DTI is in a correct working
order.
