Before storing the rotary cutter for a long period
Maintenance
• Remove the slip clutch and the cardan shaft with protections and store them on a
dry and covered place.
• Check all transmission components. If necessary, replace worn or damaged parts.
NOTE Use TATU original parts only.
Slip clutch
The slip clutch is incorporated on the cardan shaft and assembled in the box shaft. It
was designed to slip, absorb operation loads and to protect the drive shaft. The slip clutch
is factory fitted with a specified torque, in order to protect the tractor and equipment.
Before starting the assembly, be sure that the box shafts (A) are clean, without any
ink, dirt or grease. To facilitate assembly, apply some grease in the grooves of the shaft.
Do not assembly the cardan shaft without its protection cover.
Proceed the assembling process and be sure that the slip clutch terminal totally enters
in the grooves of the box shaft. Tighten the nuts (B) alternately, until they get the proper
torque.
Replacement of the skid guides
Periodically check the skid guides
and replace them as soon as excessive
wear is noticed. Proceed in the same way
with bolts, spring washers and nuts.
