15-System settings
System settings(SETUP)
On the
SETUP
Screen, you can change various settings
according to your use environment and other requirements.
You can also initialize and format the SD card.
To access the
SETUP
screen, press the MENU button to open
the menu list, select the “
SETUP
” item using the § /
BROWSE
and
¶
/ buttons and press the

button or
¯
button.
You can make the following settings on the
SETUP
screen.
Use the
§
/
BROWSE and
¶
/ buttons to select the desired
item. (When selected, the “:” becomes “ ∑ ” and the setting
value appears as light letters on a dark background.) Use the
VALUE (+/–) buttons to change the setting value.
Setting the forward/backward search speed
Use the
CUE/REV SPEED
item to set the speed of forward/
backward searching when pressing and holding the Ô / 
button during audio file playback.

Setting the automatic power off time
Use the “
AUTO OFF
” item to set the time before the unit
power automatically turns OFF after the last activity or
operation when powered by the internal battery.

Adjusting the display contrast
Use the “
CONTRAST
” item to adjust the display contrast.
Range: 1–20 (Default value: 5)
Setting the battery type
Use the “
BATTERY TYPE
” item to set the kind of batteries
used in the unit. This setting is used to show the amount of
remaining battery charge and to determine if the unit has
enough power for normal operation.
Options: “
ALKAL
” (alkaline batteries, default value), “
Ni-MH
”
(nickel-metal hydride batteries)
